Junior SOS 2024 Scholarship Application
The Junior Shag Association Scholarship will be presented to students that have displayed a record of and/or aptitude for academic success, as well as qualities of leadership and community service. This is a scholarship that will provide a monetary award to selected recipients on the basis of academic performance in their college studies.
The Junior Shag Association is a non-profit association, funded by voluntary contributions of individuals, businesses, and organizations that support the Association’s work.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Junior SOS 2024 T-Shirt Design Contest
Submissions due by May 3rd
- Open to all ages
- Design should be created on a light-colored shirt
- Must be able to fit inside of a 12”x12” on the BACK of the shirt
- Digital vector art preferred on a vibrant background
- 4 color maximum (including black)
- No photographs
- Solid colors, No gradients
- * MUST INCLUDE ‘’JUNIOR SOS 2024’’*
- Must be the original creation of the contestant and JSA will have exclusive rights.
Winner will receive:
- $100 Gift Card
- 2 Free T-Shirts
- Admission for 2 - Jr SOS Passes

The Junior Shag Association is actively planning for this year’s Junior SOS. We are excited to celebrate the 32st anniversary of the largest junior dance event in the world! The 2023 dates for Junior SOS are July 11-16th. In order to honor the history and traditions of our past, we must thoughtfully prepare for the future. To set up all generations for success, The Board will finalize this year’s Junior SOS plans under the guidance of the most up-to-date healthcare standards. The format (in person or virtual) will be announced in April. If we are able to have an in-person event, the OD Beach and Golf resort will be our host for this week-long event.

The Ellen Taylor Foundation for Junior Shaggers is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable foundation dedicated to financial assistance in the education, preservation, and promotion of the Shag, the state dance of South Carolina.
The Twisters Shag Club
The Twisters Shag Club was formed in 1991 by a group of people dedicated to having fun. Twister's was named after a lounge where the club had meetings and regular beach nights in the Cornelius area. (That lounge changed their music format and name years later.)
The Association Of Beach And Shag Club DeeJays
The Association Of Beach And Shag Club DeeJays is a social organization comprised of members interested in the preservation and furtherance of beach and shag music and the directly related lifestyles that accrue from it. We strive to demonstrate professionalism in both our presentation of this music and in our demeanor while doing it. The Association is very committed to being an integral part of every community it serves, and especially in charitable functions which benefit these communities and their constituencies, of which we also are a part.
